The Washington-Alaska Division Board is solely run by people who raise their hand to volunteer or offer their assistance and dedication by becoming a board member or a committee chair. Listed below are the leaders of the 2011-2012 season. We thank each and every one of them for their dedication and persistance in making our Division stronger.

Duties of the President
  

Preside at all Division meetings.

With the approval of the Board of Directors, appoint all standing and special committee chairmen, and may appoint a parliamentary advisor.

Be member ex-officio of all committees except the Committee on Nominations and the Audit Committee.

Coordinate the general details of the annual meeting.

Make equitable distribution of travel assignments among the Board of Directors and authorize necessary expenses incurred by any officer.

Be responsible for compiling and forwarding information for the official directory as set forth in the IAAP Handbook.

Keep the International Director fully informed on all matters concerning the Division.

Perform other duties incident to the office of the President.

Duties of the President-Elect  

Assist the President in all ways.

Assume the duties and powers of the presidency in the absence of the President.   In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, succeed to the office for the unexpired term and shall

Duties of the Vice President

Assist the President and President-Elect in all ways.

In the absence of the President and the President-Elect, serve as presiding officer at all Division meetings.

In the event of a vacancy in the office of President and President-Elect, succeed to the Office of President for the unexpired term.

Chair or serve as liaison on special projects.

Keep the Division history current.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors.

Duties of the Secretary

Act as Secretary at all meetings of the Division, furnishing complete and accurate minutes of such meetings as set forth in the Standing Rules.

Conduct the general correspondence of the division under supervision of the Board  of Directors.

Give written notice of special meetings to chapter presidents and members-at-large.

Compile the annual report as set forth in the Standing Rules.

Compile and furnish a Division roster for distribution as set forth in the Standing Rules.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Duties of the Chapter Treasurer

Be responsible for complete and accurate records of the Division’s financial affairs and have custody of all funds of the Division, depositing the funds in a bank approved by the Board of Directors. All disbursements shall be made by check.

Process new signatory cards within 30 days of taking office.

Keep a complete and accurate record of the membership within the Division. Notify 

Headquarters promptly of any name and/or address changes for members-at-large.

Transfer all books and records to the Audit Committee no later than July 15 following the conclusion of the term of office.

Provide a financial report at the annual meeting, which will show a comparison between the approved budget and paid-out expenses to date, as well as reflect the current status of the Division treasury. A complete financial statement shall be submitted to the Board of  Directors at the conclusion of the term of office, which  report shall be included and distributed with the minutes of the annual meeting. 

Renew the bond.

Make the records available at all times to any member with the approval of the Board of Directors.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
